Victor and Edgar Martinez, owners of Long Wong’s franchises in Chandler, Scottsdale, and Phoenix, are adding another Valley location on the northeast corner of Country Club and Brown in north Mesa.
The space: 1,200 square feet in the Country North Plaza Shopping Center, also home to Mesa Drummer (formerly The Dirty Drummer) and Steve’s Krazy Sub.
The history: Long Wong’s, an iconic dive bar and live-music club in downtown Tempe, closed in 2004, but several franchise eateries offering its signature chicken wings (as well as burgers and pizza) live on.
Also: The Martinez brothers are planning a franchise in Casa Grande.
Opening date? Both new locations are expected to open in early 2021.
