TC’s Pub & Grub to replace 6-year-old JC’s Steakhouse in Gilbert

JC’s Steakhouse, one of the East Valley’s few locally owned steakhouses, is closing at the end of this month after six years in business in Gilbert.

TC’s Pub & Grub in Queen Creek has purchased the restaurant near the southeast corner of Gilbert and Ray for its second location.

What happened? Chef Dennis Petty, who co-owns and operates JC’s with his wife, Diana Blewer, said the steakhouse had been doing record business earlier this year before the covid-19 pandemic.

‘‘We’re sorry to have to do this, but the pandemic hit our business hard,’’ Petty says.

The history: The veteran restaurateurs launched JC’s in the former Cafe Posada building in December 2014. They named it by using the initials of their fathers.

At the time they also owned and operated The Groves a couple miles north on Gilbert Road.

What’s next? Petty says he plans to keep JC’s Steakhouse open through New Year’s Eve in order to say goodbye to its customers.

‘‘We really loved it here, and we will really miss our guests,’’ he says.
