Middle Eastern eatery Byblos closes after 36 years in Tempe

Byblos Restaurant, a Middle Eastern and Mediterranean eatery near the southwest corner of Mill and Southern in Tempe, has closed after 36 years.

The announcement: Jamale Mirza, who co-owned the restaurant with her brother Samir (both pictured), made the announcement on social media:

‘‘We were honored to treat each and every customer who walked through our doors like family, taking pride in the quality and preparation of our food and taking great joy in serving our customers. I want to thank you for your support and loyalty to our family and to Byblos Restaurant.’’

RIP: Samir Mirza passed away in August at age 82.
