The Hub in east Mesa indefinitely closed after New Year’s Eve fire

The Hub Grill & Bar in east Mesa is closed indefinitely after what it called ‘‘a small fire’’ just before midnight Thursday.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze but not before the sports bar on the northeast corner of Sossaman and Baseline suffered significant roof and water damage.

The aftermath: The Hub was closed at the time, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Alternatives: Patrons are being directed to The Hub’s other location at Stapley and Baseline in Mesa or to its sibling restaurant, Union Grill & Tap, at Higley and Baseline in Gilbert.
