Good news for those who love Asian food: Mekong Plaza on the southwest corner of Main and Dobson in west Mesa is expanding.
The 100,000-square-foot indoor mall, which is anchored by a huge Asian supermarket and includes more than a dozen Asian eateries, is planning a 33,000-square-foot building next door (to the south).
The new addition, which hopes to break ground in June, will include more than a dozen more spaces for eateries and shops.
Mekong Plaza opened in 2008, the same year the Valley’s light rail system was extended to Main and Dobson, giving the many Asian students at ASU easy access to the foods of their homelands.
