Good news for ramen fans: Clever Koi in downtown Gilbert has unveiled two new ramen bowls, as well as two new versions of previous bowls.
‘‘Ramen has always been a bestseller for us, so we wanted to really up the stakes for 2021,’’ chef Jameson Araujo says.
The newcomers are:
- Spicy Kimchi: Paitan, house stock, 5 spice shoyu tare, confit kimchi chicken thigh, kimchi, bean sprouts, soft egg, scallions, chili oil, chili crisp, and chili threads.
- Vegan Shoyu: Shiitake tare, lemongrass broth, tofu chashu, bean sprouts, bok choy, mushrooms, yellow beets, confit tomatoes, gastrique red onions, garlic oil, and scallions.
The reworked versions are:
- Lemon Chicken: Paitan, house stock, charred lemon tare, confit lemon chicken, crispy chicken skin, bean sprouts, mushrooms, daikan sprouts, confit tomatoes, soft egg, lemon schmaltz, and scallions.
- Pork: Miso tare, house stock, chasu pork, bean sprouts, confit tomatoes, mushrooms, kimchi, and soft egg.
The ramen bowls, which are $16, also are available at Clever Koi’s Phoenix restaurant.
