Feb. 25: ‘Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe’ dinner in downtown Gilbert

Chicken Ziti and Tortellini Gianni (pictured) will be the featured entrees when Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25.

The dinner, hosted by owner-chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, is held in a private dining room with social distancing. The five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu also are available to go from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

This week’s selections:

  • Eggplant Cappicola: Ham cappicola, provolone, and eggplant battered and fried;
  • Teriyaki Chicken Salad: Black beans, cilantro, tomatoes, onions, avocado, feta, and lemon tossed together over romaine and served with chicken sautéed in teriyaki sauce;
  • Chicken Ziti: Artichoke hearts, onions, chicken, and ziti noodles baked in creamy ricotta sauce and topped with provolone;
  • Tortellini Gianni: Italian sausage, cheese-filled tortellini, scallions, fresh garlic, mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes in marsala cream sauce;
  • Mocha Espresso Brownies: Rich chocolaty brownies spiked with Greek coffee, kahlua, and walnuts.

Cost is $39 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes (or a bottle of wine to go) for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
