Back in September, MXSW broke the news that Beard Papa’s, a Japanese-born chain that claims to make ‘‘the world’s best cream puffs,’’ was going to make its Arizona debut in north Scottsdale.
It finally opens at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Scottsdale Quarter on the northeast corner of Scottsdale and Greenway.
The first 100 people in line will get a free bag of swag, and everyone will get a free cream puff with purchase (limit one cream puff per person) that day.
Customers can choose one of eight shells – such as regular, chocolate, green tea, etc. – and then one of eight cream fillings – such as chocolate, mango, strawberry, or even ice cream.
The store also sells cheesecake, creme brulee, and cream drinks.
Hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
