Beer Research Institute to open taproom & arcade in downtown Mesa

By Jess Harter Wednesday, March 3, 2021

Downtown Mesa is booming. The latest addition, just announced: The Beer Research Institute Taproom and Old School Arcade.

The city’s first brewpub, which opened on the northeast corner of Stapley and Baseline in 2014, is launching the taproom and arcade on the south side of Main just west of Robson.

It’ll be right across the street from Oro Brewing, Worth Takeaway, and Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken.

Also nearby: Cider Corps, Chupacabra Taproom, Desert Eagle Brewing, and 12 West Brewing.

The 4,000-square-foot building will have 15 BRI ales on tap along with 30 old-school arcade games and pinball machines.

‘‘This project brings together two of my long-time passions: craft beer and classic arcade games,” BRI founder Matt Trethewey says.

Look for the opening this summer.
