Japanese restaurant Shimogamo in Chandler to launch Gilbert location

After 18 years in Chandler, Shimogamo, one of the East Valley’s premier Japanese restaurants and sushi bars, is launching a second location in Gilbert.

It’s constructing a new building on the northwest corner of Williams Field and Santan Village Parkway next to the SanTan Village shopping center.

In addition exceptional sushi, Shimogamo offers wagyu steak and izakaya-style small dishes such as sunomono, tempura, gyoza, kushi, and yakimono.

Shimogamo experimented with a virtual location for delivery and takeout in Scottsdale last year, but closed it after several months.

The Gilbert location isn’t expected to open until early neat year.
