March 11: ‘Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe’ dinner in downtown Gilbert

Vasco De Gama and Milanesa will be the featured entrees when Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11.

The dinner, hosted by owner-chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, is held in a private dining room with social distancing. The five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu also are available to go from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

This week’s selections:

  • Romeo’s Choice Skins: Italian sausage, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and provolone, served with yogurt dressing;
  • Ravioli Salad: Deep-fried cheese-filled ravioli mixed with Romano-parmesan, black olives, bell peppers, tomatoes, Genoa salami, hearts of palm, peas, and red onions, tossed in mustard vinaigrette dressing;
  • Vasco De Gama: Sautéed chicken and shrimp with carrots, mushrooms, green onions, and sun-dried tomatoes in a creamy curry-mustard seed sauce with bowtie pasta and pistachios;
  • Milanesa: Lightly breaded pan-fried pork cutlets with garlic mashed potatoes, roasted pepper, and garlic jardinière;
  • Fantasy Cake: Layers of cheesecake, chocolate mousse, and Devil’s Food cake finished with dark chocolate and ground pistachios.

Cost is $39 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes (or a bottle of wine to go) for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
