Salonika Chicken and Ravioli Marco Polo will be the featured entrees when Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1.
The dinner, hosted by owner-chef Romeo Taus (pictured) and his wife, Janice, is held in a private dining room with social distancing. The five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu also are available to go from 6-7 p.m.
This week’s selections:
- Spanaki Balls: Spinach, rice, and a blend of cheeses, battered and deep-fried;
- Roasted Eggplant Salad: Roasted eggplant, red peppers, kalamata olives, green chiles, carrots, garbanzo beans, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and Romano-parmesan;
- Salonika Chicken: Italian sausage, mushrooms, pepperoncinis, garlic, capers, and pine nuts over a chicken breast in orange brandy and white wine;
- Ravioli Marco Polo: Cheese ravioli, meat sauce with Italian sausage, and ricotta topped with mozzarella and a touch of cinnamon;
- The Night Before: Dark chocolate soufflé nestled on a bed of coconut macaroons and edged with pecans.
Cost is $39 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes (or a bottle of wine to go) for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
