April 1: ‘Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe’ dinner in downtown Gilbert

Salonika Chicken and Ravioli Marco Polo will be the featured entrees when Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1.

The dinner, hosted by owner-chef Romeo Taus (pictured) and his wife, Janice, is held in a private dining room with social distancing. The five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu also are available to go from 6-7 p.m.

This week’s selections:

  • Spanaki Balls: Spinach, rice, and a blend of cheeses, battered and deep-fried;
  • Roasted Eggplant Salad: Roasted eggplant, red peppers, kalamata olives, green chiles, carrots, garbanzo beans, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and Romano-parmesan;
  • Salonika Chicken: Italian sausage, mushrooms, pepperoncinis, garlic, capers, and pine nuts over a chicken breast in orange brandy and white wine;
  • Ravioli Marco Polo: Cheese ravioli, meat sauce with Italian sausage, and ricotta topped with mozzarella and a touch of cinnamon;
  • The Night Before: Dark chocolate soufflé nestled on a bed of coconut macaroons and edged with pecans.

Cost is $39 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes (or a bottle of wine to go) for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
