Gilbert’s first Whataburger to begin construction near San Tan Village

Texas-based Whataburger is building its first Gilbert restaurant near San Tan Village. It’ll be on the west side of Market Street just south of Williams Field.

That’s right across the street from Chick-fil-A and Someburros, and not too far from burger rivals In-N-Out and Shake Shack.

Whataburger debuted in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1950 and now has more than 800 locations, including five in the East Valley.

All locations are open 24 hours.

Look for the Gilbert restaurant to open late this year.
