The Ainsworth, a New York-based upscale sports bar and restaurant, is taking over the former Hard Rock Cafe building on the northeast corner of Second Street and Jefferson – just north of Talking Stick Resort Arena – in downtown Phoenix.
The Hard Rock closed in February 2020 after 15 years.
The Ainsworth’s menu varies slightly among its nine locations nationwide, but the eye-catching item is the gold-dusted chicken wings. Ten wings are $60, or you can splurge on 50 wings and a bottle of Ace of Spades champagne for $1,000.
For the less affluent, ‘‘house’’ wings are $15 for eight bone-in or 10 boneless. Burgers and sandwiches typically range from $15-$20. Dinner entrees are $25-$45.
The Ainsworth’s opulent interior will feature a marble bar and a showpiece chandelier.
A soft opening is targeted for May.
