I Heart Mac & Cheese opens in Tempe

I Heart Mac & Cheese, a 5-year-old Florida-based chain featuring build-your-own bowls and grilled cheese sandwiches, celebrates the grand opening of its first Arizona restaurant today in south Tempe. It’s taken over the former Port of Subs space on the northeast corner of Warner and Kyrene Priest. The menu also offers broccoli bowls, cauliflower bowls, and numerous vegan and gluten-free options. I Heart Mac & Cheese is open for lunch and dinner daily.

AZ Women in Food takeout dinners

Just a reminder: 10 p.m. tonight is the deadline to order one of the AZ Women in Food dinners for Friday or Saturday. Sixteen women-owned restaurants are working together to create heat-at-home meals for two for just $65. Five different menu options each include an appetizer, main, and dessert (each course from a different restaurant). You can add beer or wine. Check out the menus and place your order here.

Saturday fundraiser for Bama BBQ truck

Seven Valley food trucks – Arizona Wings N More, Frosted Frenzy Cupcakes, Green Chile Love, Happy Time Kettle Corn, Mediterranean Majik, Kona Ice, and Rocco’s Cheesesteaks – will set up at the Adora Trail Community Center in south Gilbert from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday to raise money for Bama BBQ owners Bam and Amber Everson, who suffered serious burns when an explosion destroyed their truck at the park last week.

Italian wine tasting at Divided Vine

Divided Vine in Gilbert hosts an Italian wine tasting with the Coppo and Bibi Graetz vineyards from 5 to 7 p.m. today. The cost is $10 for four 3-ounce pours of Sangiovese, Barbera D’Asti, Moscato D’Asti, and Cabernet Sauvignon Blend. There also will be raffle for a 1-cent bottle of wine.
