Naked BBQ, one of the Valley’s top barbecue joints, is expanding again – this time with a location at the Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale.
Oren Hartman launched his first Naked BBQ in north Phoenix in 2015. As the smokehouse’s name implies, the dry-rubbed meats are served without sauce, although several sauces are offered on the side.
The daily smoked meat options include chopped brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, sliced turkey, and hot links. Specials range from prime rib to pork belly.
A second Naked BBQ opened in the Scottsdale Fiesta Shopping Center on the southeast corner of the 101 and Shea in 2017. A third, launched in west Chandler in late 2019, fell victim to the covid-19 pandemic.
The newly constructed restaurant at Westgate is expected to open in July.
