Venezia’s Pizzeria expands meatless options with plant-based pepperoni

Tempe-based Venezia’s New York Style Pizzeria has added another meatless protein topping: Vegan pepperoni is now available at all five Valley locations.

The plant-based pepperoni from Field Roast Grain Meat Co. is soy-free and made with pea protein, offering the same protein per serving as traditional pork pepperoni. It has a similar flavor and texture, even with characteristic fat marbling.

“After adding vegan cheese and meatless Italian sausage crumbles to our menu last year, our customers asked for more plant-based options so we wanted to deliver,” says Venezia’s owner Domenick Montanile.

The new meat-free pepperoni is available as a topping for create-your-own pizzas, and as part of a new plant-based specialty pizza, the Vegan Delight made with vegan chees, vegan pepperoni, vegan sausage, mushrooms and green peppers.
