The much-anticipated reopening of El Charro Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge takes place at 11 a.m. today near the northeast corner of Country Club and Main in downtown Mesa.
The iconic restaurant, which closed in 2017 after 59 years in business, now is under the leadership of Eva Munoz Orta, the daughter of founder Fred Munoz.
Fans will have to wait to get a look at the restaurant’s refurbished interior. For the first month, El Charro only will do takeout orders via a small window by its front door.
