Craving a lot of spaghetti? By the Bucket makes Valley debut in Ahwatukee

By the Bucket, a Payson-based concept that literally sells spaghetti and meatballs by the bucket to go, has made its Valley debut in Ahwatukee.

The 1,200-square-foot restaurant is located on the northeast corner of Chandler Boulevard and Desert Foothills Parkway – the same shopping center as Vero Chicago Pizza (the recently renamed Buddyz Pizzeria).

Bret daCosta, who founded By the Bucket in Payson in 2018 and added a restaurant in Pinetop last year, has begun selling licensed locations.

Twenty-year Ahwatukee residents Chris and Laura Lopez own the Ahwatukee restaurant.

The menu offers famiglia (1.5-pound), mezzano (1-pound), and bambino (half-pound) buckets of spaghetti with marinara and garlic bread for $15, $11, and $7, respectively.

Meatballs are an extra $1.50 apiece. Meatball subs also are available for $9.

By the Bucket is open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.
