The owners of Chiwas Tacos are working on a new concept – a Mexican restaurant called Cocina Chiwas – to debut in Tempe next year.
The restaurant’s wood-fired oven and grill will produce an expanded menu of regional dishes from Chihuahua, Sonora, and Sinaloa.
It will be part of Culdesac Tempe, a car-free neighborhood on Apache between McClintock and Price.
Tacos Chiwas has restaurants in Chandler, Mesa, and Phoenix.
