Ex-Iron Chef back in business with Campo Italian Bistro in Scottsdale

By Jess Harter Tuesday, June 1, 2021

Genuine Concepts, the local restaurant group behind The Vig, The Little Woody, The Womack, and others, opens its newest concept – Campo Italian Bistro & Bar – in Scottsdale at 3 p.m. today.

It replaces James Beard Award-winning chef Alex Stratta’s short-lived Stratta Kitchen on the northwest corner of Hayden and Via de Ventura.

Stratta and Genuine Concepts executive chef Jeremy Pacheco have teamed up to put together a menu of antipasti, pizzas, paninis, and  fresh pastas.

Stratta was named Best Chef Southwest while he was at Mary Elaine’s at The Phoenician resort in 1998. He went on to star as Iron Chef Italian on the Food Network’s “Iron Chef USA.”

Campo is open 3-9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 3-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and 3-9 p.m. Sunday. Closed Mondays.
