Newly opened Maui Hawaiian Grill dishes up island BBQ in south Tempe

Maui Hawaiian Grill, an independent restaurant featuring Hawaiian BBQ, has opened on the southeast corner of Mill and Baseline in Tempe.

The strip-mall space formerly was home to Jamaiican restaurant Caribbean Spice.

Maui Hawaiian’s menu offers typical island fare such as BBQ beef (pictured), kalua pork, chicken katsu, and crispy shrimp.

One-item plates, which include rice and salad, are $9.99 and two-item are $10.99. Combo specials are $10.99 or $11.99.

Maui Hawaiian Grill is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
