Maui Hawaiian Grill, an independent restaurant featuring Hawaiian BBQ, has opened on the southeast corner of Mill and Baseline in Tempe.

The strip-mall space formerly was home to Jamaiican restaurant Caribbean Spice.

Maui Hawaiian’s menu offers typical island fare such as BBQ beef (pictured), kalua pork, chicken katsu, and crispy shrimp.

One-item plates, which include rice and salad, are $9.99 and two-item are $10.99. Combo specials are $10.99 or $11.99.

Maui Hawaiian Grill is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
