Veal Pirata and Paella Barcelona (pictured) will be the featured entrees when Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert holds its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 1.
The dinner, hosted by owner-chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, features five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu.
This week’s selections:
- Eggplant Cappicola: Ham cappicola, provolone, and eggplant battered and fried, served with homemade marinara;
- Ravioli Salad: Deep-fried cheese-filled ravioli mixed with Romano-parmesan, black olives, bell peppers, tomatoes, Genoa salami, hearts of palm, peas, and red onions tossed in mustard vinaigrette dressing;
- Veal Pirata: Walnut- and almond-crusted veal shoulder scaloppini with sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, red peppers, asparagus, capers, and roasted garlic in marsala cream over linguini;
- Paella Barcelona: Shrimp, chicken, clams, Italian sausage, hearts of artichoke and palm, spinach, red bell peppers, onions, roasted whole garlic, tomatoes, and brown rice;
- Fantasy Cake: Layers of cheesecake, chocolate mousse and Devil’s Food cake finished with dark chocolate and ground pistachios.
