Much-anticipated Furious Beer & BBQ begins construction in Phoenix

Furious Beer & BBQ, one of the more talked-about concepts in the Valley’s craft beer scene for nearly a year, finally is beginning construction.

The brewery and smokehouse took over former live-music club Joe’s Grotto on the northeast corner of 32nd Street and Thunderbird in Phoenix at the beginning of June.

Demolition and licensing took most of the month, but construction of the 5,500-square-foot space should begin in earnest in July.

The opening is expected by the end of the year.
