The wait is over, Tucson-based Eegee’s finally opens its first Valley location at 9:30 a.m. Thursday on the southwest corner of Val Vista and Baseline in Gilbert.
The 3,515-square-foot quick-service restaurant features a walk-up counter, a spacious dining room, and a drive-through window.
The menu offers grinders (subs), fries, and salads, but the concept is best-known for its frozen fruit drinks.
Valley artist and designer Timmy Ham created a unique Eegee’s sticker for Thursday’s opening. Guests will receive one sticker per order while supplies last.
A limited number of “special edition” stickers will win free Eegee’s for a year.
The chain unsuccessfully tried to establish a foothold in the Valley in the 1980s. The Gilbert location will be its 28th.
Hours are 9:30 a.m.-9 p.m. daily with the drive-through open until 10 p.m.
