Tempe’s short-lived bao burger eatery Deez Buns, which closed in May, is being replaced by a Korean build-your-own-bowl concept called Kbop on the northeast corner of Washington and Priest.
Who’s doing it? Deez Buns co-founder Justin Jin Park (pictured), the guy behind Korean street food bar Drunken Tiger in Mesa, will run Kbop with his family. His father owned Mesa’s Korea Mart, which closed in April.
The menu: Diners will choose from Korean barbecued beef or pork on a base of rice or sweet potato noodles.
The timeline: A soft opening by the end of July or early August.
