Switch Restaurant & Bar, a casual neighborhood hangout that’s been a mainstay of midtown Phoenix for the past 14 years, announced it will close permanently at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5.
The reason: ‘‘(The) last 18 months or so has been trying for everyone to say the least with rising costs, a shortage of labor and the potential of worsening health crisis,’’ owner Jason Peterson writes on social media. ‘‘We have decided that it is time to get some much needed rest and figure what opportunities the world will afford us next.’’
The food: American comfort food, including smoked adobo meatloaf (pictured), chicken pot pie, and Creole shrimp and grits.
The location: Northeast corner of Central and Virginia.
