The buzz making the rounds in Ahwatukee is The Hub Grill & Bar is going to take over the just-closed Mellow Mushroom on the southwest corner of I-10 and Ray. So I asked The Hub owner Kenny Klaus if it was true.
His response: ‘‘We will be making an announcement soon updating everyone regarding that and an update on Sossaman location.’’
The background: The Hub’s location on the northeast corner of Sossaman and Baseline in east Mesa has been closed since a New Year’s Eve fire. Its other location on the northwest corner of Stapley and Baseline in Mesa remains open.
