Electric Pickle, a new pickleball-themed entertainment complex concept, will make its national debut near the northeast corner of I-10 and Warner – just south of Main Event – in south Tempe.
What is pickleball? Combining aspects of badminton, ping pong, and tennis, pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States.
The complex: A two-story, 7,500-square-foot restaurant with a large patio and rooftop bar; nine pickleball courts; a lawn for live music and other group gatherings; and cornhole and bocce ball courts.
The food: Global comfort cuisine including Mexico City-inspired tacos, Neapolitan pizzas, Korean protein bowls, sandwiches, and backyard-style burgers.
The company: California-based Eureka Restaurant Group operates 25 American gastropub-themed Eureka! restaurants.
Other locations: Eureka is planning at least five Electric Pickle locations in Texas and the Southwest, including a second Arizona location along the Loop 101 in Scottsdale in 2023.
Projected Tempe opening: Late 2022.
