Closed (again): Howler’s Restaurant & Sports Bar at Gilbert Town Square

For the second time in six weeks, the year-old Howler’s Restaurant & Sports Bar has unexpectedly closed at Gilbert Town Square on Gilbert Road between Warner and Ray.

The history: The sports bar closed Aug. 21 without notice, and owners later told MXSW it was for ‘‘remodeling the space and hiring enough staff.’’ It reopened Sept. 2.

Chandler location: Howler’s other location next to Chandler Fashion Center has been closed for weeks for ‘‘renovations.’’

The statement: On Thursday, Howler’s owners told MXSW, ‘‘Due to the Gilbert landlord’s unaccepted new terms and health conditions of our CEO, we have decided not to continue in the sports bar industry.’’
