Don Guerra, owner and head baker at Barrio Bread in Tucson, has won the 2022 James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Baker. The Tempe native, who opened Barrio Bread in his garage in 2009, is the first Arizona baker to win the award. The Beard Awards, the Oscars of the culinary world, were held today in Chicago.
