Resurgent Uncle Bear’s Grill & Tap has opened its fifth restaurant in the former Tipsy Coyote space on the southwest corner of Scottsdale and Bell in north Scottsdale. The local chain, which debuted as Uncle Bear’s Bar & Grill in Gilbert in 2000, grew to five locations in the early 2010s before selling or closing ones in Chandler, Ahwatukee, and Surprise. In the past five years, however, Uncle Bear’s has opened a production brewery and taproom in Gilbert (2018) and restaurants in east Mesa (2019), Paradise Valley (2021) and now Scottsdale.
