The Local Chandler to close Aug. 8, Matty G’s to take over downtown space

The Local Chandler, a 5-year-old sports bar and lounge in downtown Chandler, is closing next Monday, Aug. 8, and Matty G’s Steakburgers & Lobsta’ Rolls is moving into the building next to The Perch Brewery on the southwest corner of Wall and Chicago. The Local will host a customer appreciation party from 6 p.m.-close Thursday with a free buffet, $4 flavored vodkas, and $4 local beer pints. Matty G’s, which launched its first Valley location in northeast Mesa in 2018 and currently has five locations, is expected to open in mid-August.
