Tucked Away Craft Kitchen in Mesa to close, convert into private event space

By Jess Harter Monday, October 3, 2022

Tucked Away Craft Kitchen & Bar, the well-regarded 3-year-old New American restaurant in the Safeway plaza on the northeast corner of Val Vista and Southern in east Mesa, is being converted into a private event space.

The history: Tipsy Cactus TapRoom owners Sean Hayes and Jo Ann Franko partnered with Taste of New Mexico food truck chef Gabe Madrid to open Tucked Away, which was open for dinner and weekend brunch.

The changes: After its final dinner service this Saturday (brunch service ended last Saturday), Tucked Away will be available for private events ranging from birthday parties to weddings. It also intends to continue hosting beer and wine dinners with Madrid.
