Hope Peshlakai, who operated a popular roadside food stand in east Mesa for a decade, has launched a bricks-and-mortar Navajo restaurant, Hope’s Frybread, on the northwest corner of Mesa and Second Avenue near downtown Mesa.

The space: The 30-seat, counter-service restaurant takes over the former Deseret Book store strip-mall suite.

The menu: Frybread topped with or wrapped around savory or sweet ingredients. (Pictured: The Asian Persuasion with grilled teriyaki chicken, grilled pineapple, fresh cabbage, and Sriracha sauce.)

Open: 11 a.m.- 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Closed Sunday.
