Utah-based Black Rifle Coffee makes Arizona debut in east Phoenix

Black Rifle Coffee Company, a Utah-based chain whose coffee is sold at Quik Trip and other Valley locations, has opened its first Arizona coffee shop near the northeast corner of Indian School and 40th Street in east Phoenix.

The history: Black Rifle was founded in 2014 by Evan Hafer, a former U.S. Army Green Beret. The company puts an emphasis on hiring veteran and supporting veteran-related initiatives.

Did you know? Black Rifle plans to open its second Arizona store at Power Road and Ray in Gilbert in November. Another is coming to Scottsdale and Shea in Scottsdale.

Open: 5:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
