Four restaurant brands were revealed Tuesday as concessionaires inside ASU’s new hockey arena, which opens this weekend, in Tempe:
- Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, a Scottsdale-based concept with 13 Valley locations, the most recent at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix;
- Venezia’s New York Style Pizzeria, a Tempe-based company with six Valley locations;
- Big Chicken, a chicken sandwich eatery launched by former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal;
- Sparky’s Hot Spot, an in-house concept featuring Southwest fare such as Sonoran chicken cheesesteaks and carne asasa nachos.
The venue: The 5,000-seat Mullett Arena opens Friday for ASU’s hockey game against Colgate.
- It also will be the temporary home of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, whose first home game is Oct. 28.
