Mexican seafood eatery Ay, Chabela launches in downtown Phoenix

Ay, Chabela, a Mexican seafood restaurant with an agave-based cocktail program, has opened in the former Chez Gregory space near the southeast corner of Roosevelt and Seventh Street in downtown Phoenix.

Who: The restaurant is a joint project by brothers Andrew and Nick Renteria (Chubasco Tacos food stand) and Sam Olguin (Killer Whale Sex Club).

Menu highlights: Aguachiles negros, swordfish tacos (pictured), charred octopus tacos, halibut tostadas, and tacos perrón.

Open: 4-11 p.m. Monday, 4-10 p.m. Thursday-Friday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday. Closed Tuesday-Wednesday.
