Artichoke Basille’s Pizza, a New York City-based chain with one of the ‘‘10 NYC Slices You Have To Try Before You Die’’ according to Buzzfeed, expands its Valley footprint Friday with a third location at Desert Ridge Marketplace in northeast Phoenix.
The menu: Eight varieties of pizza – including its namesake artichoke pizza with artichoke hearts, spinach, cream sauce, mozzarella, and pecorino Romano cheese – available by the slice or pie.

The history: Cousins Francis Garcia and Sal Basille launched Artichoke in New York City’s East Village in 2008.
