The Brass Tap, a Florida-based chain of craft beer bars, is closing its first Arizona location Saturday after eight years at Mesa Riverview.
The announcement: ‘‘After 8 years as a staple in the Mesa Craft beer community our doors will be closing this Saturday. Come join us in our attempt to blow 60 kegs in a weekend & say our final goodbyes. All draughts will be $4 & most bottles at $3,’’ the bar posted on social media.
The history: Jessie Rowe opened the chain’s first Arizona franchise at the Mesa shopping center in 2014 and added a downtown Gilbert location in 2018.
- In 2020, the Gilbert location was transformed into Da’Bayou Creole Kitchen, which closed at the end of 2021.
- A second franchisee is opening a new Brass Tap at Verde at Cooley Station in Gilbert next month.
What’s next: State records show Tempe-based Huss Brewing recently applied for a liquor license for the Riverview space, but Huss officials say no deal has been finalized.
