The Vig, a local group of popular neighborhood hangouts, has opened its fifth location in the former Ladera Taverna y Cocina space on Central just south of Dunlap in north central Phoenix.
- The Vig is part of the Genuine Concepts restaurant group, which also owned Ladera.
- The group closed The Vig in uptown Phoenix last December to convert it to a new flagship concept, The Genuine, which debuted in April.
The menu: Chef Jeremy Pacheco recently revamped The Vig’s upscale tavern fare.
- Starters include Salt Seared Tuna (pictured) and Crisp Red Onion Rings with white BBQ sauce.
- Sandwiches include a Hot Honey Chicken and a Braised Beef Dip.
- Entrées include Housemade Rigatoni and a Grilled Mahi Mahi Sandwich.
Open: 3-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 3-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.
