Salad World, featuring fast-casual customized salads, opens in Peoria

Salad World, a new fast-casual build-your-own-salad concept, soft-opens at 10 a.m. today in the Safeway center on the northwest corner of Cactus and 83rd Avenue in Peoria.

The menu: Diners can design their own salads (or wraps) from more than 60 fresh, unlimited ingredients.

  • Salads are $9.99 (regular) and $11.99 (large). Proteins are an extra charge.
  • Protein choices include chicken breast, ham, steak, plant-based chicken, and tofu.
  • Can’t decide what ingredients to include? There are four pre-designed salads (pictured).

2 for $22 Tuesday special: Get two regular-size salads with chicken, ham, or tofu for $22 on Tuesdays. Add $1 per salad for steak or $1.79 per salad for plant-based chicken.

The quote: ‘‘Our motto is ‘eat well, be healthy, live better.’ It is our mission to help people eat better,’’ Salad World owner Dennis Schwarcz says.

Grand opening: Tuesday, Jan. 3, including a ribbon-cutting at 4 p.m.

Open: 10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.
