Carolina’s Mexican Food, a Valley favorite for more than 50 years, has opened its sixth location near the northwest corner of 59th Avenue and Greenway Road in Glendale.
The menu: Burros, tacos, enchiladas, tamales, and tostadas. Carolina’s is best-known for its award-winning 15-inch tortillas, which are made in-house daily.
The history: Carolina and Manuel Valenzuela sold homemade tortillas, burritos, and tamales out of the back of their car before opening their first Carolina’s in south Phoenix in 1968.
