Roy’s Restaurant, an upscale restaurant that specializes in Hawaiian and Japanese fusion cuisine, will close its last remaining Arizona location at Desert Ridge in northeast Phoenix on April 23.
- The Desert Ridge location will host a 20th anniversary dinner Saturday.
- A Chandler location closed in June 2022 after 15 years.
The history: James Beard Award-winning chef Roy Yamaguchi founded Roy’s in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1988.
- The chain quickly grew to 16 locations nationwide.
- After the Desert Ridge closure, only two California locations and a third in Florida will remain.
