The Craftsman Cocktails & Kitchen opens in ex-Cotton & Copper space in Tempe

The Craftsman Cocktails & Kitchen, a creative but comfortable neighborhood restaurant in north Scottsdale, has opened its second location in the former Cotton & Copper space on the northeast corner of Rural and Warner in south Tempe.

The background: The Craftsman opened in October 2020 in the former Tavern Americana space on the southeast corner of Hayden and Thompson Peak Parkway. Christopher Nicosia, an Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame inductee and former executive chef at the late Sassi, heads the kitchen.

Menu highlights: Portobello mushroom ‘‘fries,’’ crispy chickpea cake sandwich, Chashu pork ramen, and Volcano Pork (pictured), a bone-in shank braised in Hatch green chile jus and served with jalapeno slaw.

From the bar: The Craftsman features its own line of small-batch distilled spirits, including vodka, gin, rum, barrel-aged amaro, bourbon, and coffee liqueur.

⏰ Open: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
