Chesapeake Bay Seafood Bistro closes Ahwatukee bricks & mortar restaurant

By Jess Harter Tuesday, January 10, 2023

Chesapeake Bay Seafood Bistro has closed its 19-month-old Ahwatukee restaurant but will continue to operate its Tempe-based ghost kitchen.

The history: James and Yolanda Brown opened CBSB on the southwest corner of Elliot and 51st Street in June 2019.

  • The menu offers a seasonal selection of mostly fresh fish and seafood cooked to order.
  • During the season, blue crab is flown in live daily from Maryland.
  • The Tempe ghost kitchen, focused on takeout and delivery, was launched in November 2022.

The quote: ‘‘Thank you to our customers for your loyal support over the years. Unfortunately, we were unable to sustain keeping our original location open, but we’re still here to serve up great seafood to the Tempe community,’’ the restaurant posted on social media.
