Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto will make two Valley appearances on Friday, Feb. 3, to promote his new premium sake collaboration Junmai Daiginjo.
- Stop #1: Morimoto will greet fans at the Costco at 15255 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Stop #2: The chef will appear at the Costco at 595 S. Galleria Way, Chandler, from 2-4 p.m.
The sake: Produced at the Fukumitusya Brewery in Kanazawa, Japan, Junmai Daiginjo is made with the highest-quality Yamadanishiki, Kinmonnishiki, and Fukunohana rice with no added alcohol.
The chef: Morimoto gained fame for his appearances on the Japanese TV cooking show ‘‘Iron Chef’’ and its spinoff ‘‘Iron Chef America.’’
- He opened his first Morimoto restaurant in Philadelphia in 2001 and now operates 19 restaurants worldwide.
