British pub The Union Jack has closed its flagship location on the southwest corner of the 101 and Frank Lloyd Wright in north Scottsdale.
It was just 17 months ago that The Union Jack replaced the Skeptical Chymist Irish Pub.
The claim: In a notice posted on its social media, the pub claims it has ‘‘temporarily closed for remodel from Sunday, Jan. 29 for approximately two weeks.’’
- Of course, you’d have to wonder why any large sports-type bar would remodel during the busiest week of the year with the nearby Phoenix Open and the Super Bowl.
Now available: In reality, The Union Jack space currently is listed as available for lease. Interested parties can call The Restaurant Brokers at 480-491-0123.
- The Union Jack’s second location, which opened last year at Dana Park in Mesa, remains open.
